So, I just returned home from a dreamy week of sun, sand, friends, drinks and watching one of my beautiful friends getting married on the beach! It was amazing! But, before I left, packing was a nightmare. I am the worst at over packing and throwing everything that “could be an option” into my suitcase. But, this is the worst thing you can do.
Packing for your Vacation can be a daunting task. I have never been the type of girl who packs a week before and plans every outfit. Like, how am I supposed to know what I want to wear that day?
But- the truth is, it’s much easier to plan a few things out before you go. Even if it’s not every outfit exactly! Just giving yourself a list of options for each day, eliminates the frantic panic of deciding what to wear.
So, before going on vacation next time – I decided to write this post, and give myself a few tips for my next adventure.
Plan outfits for every occasion.
This is where I slacked off this time. I brought clothes for going out at night, and bikinis for hitting the beach during the day, but kept scrambling for something casual to wear overtop. Try to keep in mind all the occasions you will need outfits for and make sure to bring a few choices!
Bring VERSATILE options.
If you want to wear a skirt, but the shirt you planned got dirty (or you’re just not feeling it), BRING EXTRA. Or bring multiple shirts and tank tops that can be changed between outfits. That way, you are covered no matter what happens.
Roll, don’t fold.
Since there is no other way to avoid over packing, roll your clothes. This is an easy way to fit A LOT more into your suitcase. It also keeps your items from getting wrinkled during travel.
NECKLACE TIP: This happens to me EVERY time I travel (including this time). I bring necklaces to wear during my stay, and they end up all tangled when I get there. Instead of tossing them into your bag, lay them flat on a sheet of tissue paper, then roll them up and fold into your zip lock bag!
